I have just spent three weeks off from my current primary employment at CITEC and I must say it has been great. It has been almost three years since I have taken any length of time off and I must say I should do it more often when I can. Sometimes you just need to unplug from work and just rediscover how to relax.
I have managed to do a little bit of stuff while I was off. We now have two new trees in the back yard planted and I am looking forward to the fruit they will produce over the next few years. We also sat down and planned how we were going to landscape the back yard which was good also. Now I just have to get the resources to start building our garden beds.
Had a fun night with the guys playing board / card games last Saturday night. I have discovered new games like Dominion, Carcasonne and Settlers of Catan which I never knew existed but love playing them. I have added them to my amazon wish list so if anyone is feeling like they need to buy me something for a present then consider them.
Well it was a relaxing time off. My mind feels fresher then before I went on leave so this is good. I think I might even be enthusiastic about returning to work and the challenges I will face there. A renewed sense of energy if you will. I am also going to start taking the time to post my thoughts and comments on this blog for discussion and comment. Feel free to participate in the discussion.
Ashlee, David’s wife put me on to an excellent new science fiction TV series called Continuum. Thanks Ashlee for the recommendation, the show is excellent and I cannot wait for season 2 to start airing. Unfortunately it has not been released yet on DVD but I hope it does soon because I think it is one my Dad would love. You got to love time travel and all the quirks associated with it. Which reminds me I should look up when Dr Who airs the second part of series 7, that has got to be close now.
